Question: Despite the fact that Daniel is not listed among the prophets in the Jewish Canon, his role as a prophet is recognized because of his apocalyptic visions and the profound wisdom he exhibited throughout his life?
I say this with care; the "Jewish Canon” is just that “Jewish”!
That statement does not mean that I am “Anti-Semitic”, but that because the Jewish Sanhedrin rejected Jesus at Acts. 28:25–28, the Jews are in a condition called “Lo-Ammi” (not My people); see Isa. 6:9–10, and Hos.1&2.
What this means is that because of the Veil that Almighty God has placed on the Jewish understanding (2Cor. 3:14–16 & Romans 9), they cannot see the Truth of Christ Jesus as their Messiah, and will not until the events of Zech. 12:10! Only those Jews who “see Jesus through the Veil” will enter the Body of Christ Jesus up to Zech.12:10; and the Jewish teaching via the Rabbi’s will continue, “that the messiah has yet to come to Israel, and that he will be of human only stock”!
As regards your comment that Daniel is not in the Torah listing; the only thing that matters is that Daniel is revered by Christian’s worldwide, and is referred to by Christ Jesus regarding the “last Days” of this Age, when he refers to the “Anti-Christ” in Matt. 24:15; which shows, and reiterates that Daniel is “Greatly Beloved” of God Dan. 9:23!
